How Qigong Saved My Life

How Qigong Saved My Life

We now live in a world where we’re connected with everything except ourselves. During the early pandemic, I found myself very disconnected. I tried everything, but there was only one thing that worked.

When we’re down is when we can really put things to the test. And what worked for me was an ancient tradition called Qigong (“chee-gong”). It translates from ancient Chinese to the “cultivation of life force energy.”

Most fitness routines ignore one of the most crucial aspects of our health: how energy flows through us. If it gets stuck, often through negative emotions, disease can result, according to Traditional Chinese Medicine.

There was a specific Qigong routine that lifted me up and super-charged me in ways I never could’ve imagined. I still do the forms today, so I wanted to share them with others. I eventually put them together in what I call at the “personal power flow.” It only takes about 14 minutes and you can do it once a day, once a week, whatever. But I believe you’ll never be the same, as these are routines have been time-tested for thousands of years.

What I love about Qigong is how it connects us with nature, teaching us to move the way nature moves, how we originally moved. And for, that was the path to healing, and a path to undoing this kind of techno-mindset we often get stuck in, which definitely isn’t healthy.

I love technology as much as anyone, obviously, but this is what breaks it up and gives it the space it needs to be fruitful and abundant, and not constructive and oppressive.

There are forms based on the clouds, the trees, something as simple as a lotus flower or as powerful as a tiger or bear. The other beautiful thing about Qigong is you don’t need any yoga mat or any props or anything. You can do it on the road, at home, on a mountain, in the water!

Some think it might even become bigger than yoga, because it’s easier to do and it brings in more new energy, or “Qi” (chee) as it’s known in Traditional Chinese Medicine, which inspires much of Qigong.

Here it is! The new Personal Power Flow! ✨
