Escape the Trap of Growing Up: Rediscover the Magic of Wonder

There’s a trap set in the world, in almost every town and city, waiting for each and every one of us.

And if we don’t walk right into the trap, people question us.

The trap is called growing up or adulting.

And I don’t mean becoming emotionally mature and intelligent. I mean closing down your imagination, closing out others who don’t share your same worldview, ceasing to believe in anything that already wasn’t proven to you, and conforming to the herd mentality instead of following the light within.

Growing up isn’t about age, it’s about attitude. If we don’t keep our sense of wonder, things start to go downhill pretty fast.

So adulting can be a trap for the creative soul, which we all are.

Stay curious and in a state of play it is the secret to staying young. Life’s simply too short to act your age. Instead, act like the universe is your playground.

Adulting, in the end, is like trying to fold a fitted sheet. It’s messy and no one really knows how to do it.

Who needs wrinkles when you can have laugh lines from endless giggles?

The ancient masters who studied and meditated and prayed more than any of us can imagine in in the end actually became younger, not old and crusty.

Bob Dylan had a famous line looking back at a part of his life he was taking too seriously. He said: “I was so much older then, I’m younger than that now.”

You can continue becoming younger, more imaginative, more giving, more creative, more into helping others. Then when you do reach the end of this chapter called earthly life, they say you’ll be welcomed into the next life.

As even who they called the Anointed One said, those who remain childlike will be celebrated in the kingdom hereafter.
